I did a review of Shehanne’s book, Splendor, on my Art Gowns blog. It was totally enjoyable, especially due the period of the romance.
It was here I came up with the memorable saying: “Never judge a book by its cover, unless there’s a gown on it.”
The moment I saw the new cover of Shehanne’s re-released tale of Lady Fury, I fell in love with the gown! Then, I read chapter one on Shehanne’s blog post about the re-release.
She really knows how to set up a story, and lure you into it. I’ve received a courtesy copy (Thank You, Shey!) and am currently reading Chapter III.
Below is the blurb.
Genoa 1820
Rule One: There will be no kissing. Rule two: You will be fully clothed at all times…
Widowed Lady Fury Shelton hasn’t lost everything—yet. As long as she produces the heir to the Beaumont dukedom, she just might be able to keep her position. And her secrets. But when the callously irresistible Captain James “Flint” Blackmoore sails back into her life, Lady Fury panics. She must find a way to protect herself—and her future—from the man she’d rather see rotting in hell than sleeping in her bed. If she must bed him to keep her secrets, so be it. But she doesn’t have to like it. A set of firm rules for the bedroom will ensure that nothing goes awry. Because above all else, she must stop herself from wanting the one thing that Flint can never give her. His heart.
Ex-privateer Flint Blackmoore has never been good at following the rules. Now, once again embroiled in a situation with the aptly named Lady Fury, he has no idea why he doesn’t simply do the wise thing and walk away. He knows he’s playing with fire, and that getting involved with her again is more dangerous than anything on the high seas. But he can’t understand why she’s so determined to hate him. He isn’t sure if the secret she keeps will make things harder—or easier—for him, but as the battle in the bedroom heats up, he knows at least one thing. Those silly rules of hers will have to go…

Gorgeous gown for sure!
Haven’t read a historical romance in a while… might be due soon 😉
Lol… I always try to deal in the timeless themes. xxxx
Yeah, the gown makes me crazy! I keep envisioning her in it when I read, but she’s got to change sometimes!
I imagine… yanno… after a while it might have a hum to it 😉
Maybe I could imagine her changing into one of my gowns. Wild Rose would be lovely on her!
Sweet
SHe would love your gowns. I should change the line about paying her dressmaker to paying her gown designer, Resa….
Well, I’d put up with that! ❦✨
Wow, beautiful gowns. Thank you for the titles.
Thank you for visiting and commenting xxxx
Resa , thank you so much. Back at the desk today, wasn’t well yesterday xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I LOVE this.
You’re welcome. You lure me in more and more! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I did 3 all told xxxxxxxxx
Wow, 21 FB shares! Nice!!! OMG!It’s up to 35!
Resa, your artistic gowns are gorgeous! 🌟Thanks for this beautiful and fabulous review and feature on Shehanne Moore’s books. They are riveting, sensuous and scorching HOT! 🔥
Her plotlines are unique in vivid, historically accurate details, too. I highly recommend “The Viking and the Courtesan” for a time travel fantasy-romance! 💜 So many people like Vikings subject on History/BBC/PBS, as well as, “Game of Thrones!” Shey has had this book finished for quite some time and it captures, “kidnaps you” right away!
Lastly, Resa~ I loved the gown you created for Ralph’s wife, too. 💖
This is a very lovely comment! Thank you so much! ❦❦
Yes, the historic detail in Shey’s books is wonderful. 🎩💃🏽(big lack of historic gown emoji!) It’s right up there with the plot 🎭and the hot! 💥
Thanks for the tip on “The Viking and the Courtesan”. First things first, and Lady Fury is in session!
Yes, O Royal Treasure is a pretty thing. It looks like a wedding cake.
So, I’m drawing the Art Gowns one by one, in retrospect. I believe Natascha’s gown is 2 away. Of course that could mean months away, lol. ❦❦
Resa, I think you must have had something there to see on Ralph’s wedding posts, otherwise how did my 63 year old brain think of Natascha?
So funny! 😊 😀
Yes, when I do old type posts or need emojis, I rely on the old clock 🕰️ necklace 📿 candles 🕯️🕯️ or key 🗝️. I love the ancient Egyptian urns: ⚱️or 🏺!
Robin !!!!! You are always so kind. My CHAMPION you! I have not been well all weekend and wonderful words have made me feel so much better. Truly. I treasure them. I will go to sleep a happy lady tonight. And tomorrow get up and get on with editing my present work. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
