Frank, from aFa, has challenged us to write based on this picture! With 150 words or less, Frank has also written a story. Read Frank’s tale, and the stories from all participating by going to On Footprints in the Sand!
She’s gone.
Was she carried away by the lake shore’s breeze, while I shopped for a new summer dress? I admit the one I found is simply divine. Could she have been swept into the trees?
I so wanted her to see the fiery frock, and the summer wind blowing my hair about the non-existent shoulders of the garment’s mastery.
Soon, a wave will come and wash her printed feet and circling echos from the beach. The only way is out, and be free!
I sink my feet into the sand, then walk away. For in the sand so fickle, nothing dwells; not even a castle.

Oooh.. I love this, Resa. Love the back and forth about the missing person and the dress… both feeling connected and apart at the same time.

Thank you, Dale! It’s my first challenge, accepted. I think it’s fun! 😀

It is indeed! I participate weekly in Friday Fictioneers, a 100-word story challenge. Sure teaches you to cut the excess!

Well done. The first thing I noticed was you working in a sense of fashion. 😉 … now that’s a surprise! 😉 …. But then I wondered about her standing on the beach. Was she dreaming or was she about to end her life? Hmmmm …. Thanks for participating!

It was fun. Thanks for the challenge, and I hope you have another! Or, another musical is always a groove.
Frank, one of the reasons I posted late was that I kept interpreting my piece in different ways, although I had specific meaning in mind. In the end, I thought, it means what it means to the reader. 😀

No problem on the timing … after all, late in blogging has a different meaning!

Interesting, and cool! 😀

Did you see my response to Dale before I noticed you gave her the link?

I just saw it! LOL! Subway has nothing on me!!! xo

I really enjoyed this! Part of the fun, I find, in challenges like this is the reader’s interpretations on endings. You did great!
(Now I’m going to have to follow this blog of yours! I don’t know why I didn’t know about it before 😉 )
Resa said:
Thank you, Jackie! The reason you didn’t know about this blog is, I want to write, I love to write, but I am very insecure about it. I kept it very low key, almost invisible. Thank you for your kindness!

I understand, Resa. From what I’ve read you do very well. 🙂

Well done dear Resa. Your story was so good that it got me thinking and I had a go myself.
Love and big hugs. Ralph xoxoxo ❤

Oh! I’ll check that out! xoxo ❤

Talking about interpretations, I had a few! I like that. I like that a piece of writing makes me think, makes me wonder what the writer had in mind.
I don’t need to know… It’s nice to wonder! 🙂
xoxoxo
Resa said:
Oh, thank you Carolyn! 😀
I like to wonder, too. I think therein lies my insecurity about writing.
I say something is this, then I reread it and think…. well, it could be that?

I don’t see that as something to be concerned about; the reader’s view will almost always be according to their experiences, philosophies, and the like, and not necessarily exactly what we, as the writer, had in mind.
I find that with my own posts; the reader can only take from them that which is, by their view, understood.
Having that appreciation I can leave the reader to their own interpretation, knowing that for them it is right… 🙂
Having said all that ~ I find your writings extremely enjoyable, even just from your ability of word placement… You do have a gift, consciously known to you, or not… Just keep writing… 🙂

I will keep writing. It’s something that feels right! Thank you for your kind and insightful thoughts. xoxoxo

I would say that she is you, somehow… maybe a reflection of you, a memory coming from the past…. I agree with Frank… When I began reading I felt you making reference to one of your Goddess Gowns, meaning a creative projection. I love this one, Resa… truly well done 😀 Sending much love! ❤
Resa said:
Dear Aquileana,
You are correct in what you say. Your interpretation of my thoughts through prose exceeds my own!
Yes, a creative projection, with a twist of late 60’s pop culture. Sending hugs! xoxo

Ooooh now I am wondering where the woman went… and thinking of the sand and sea as unrelenting… Great take on the prompt, especially with the inclusion of clothing ~ You are a designer at heart! ❤
Resa said:
😀 I think she may have gone to find a place where a castle could dwell, even if there is no castle there, yet.
Thanks for reading this Christy! Your comment warms me. ❤

Excellent writing and challenge of the mind.
It’s a mystery to me about the missing person.
This reminded me of this song by NIN press play and listen

That was fabulous! I get your point. Luv it & TY, Charlie!
